Ala. City to Build Greenway
Madison in North Alabama plans to start work on the Bradford Creek Greenway next summer. The first phase will include a 2.5-mile paved trail for walkers, cyclists and skaters. Work on a second phase is expected to start in two years.

New Gizmo: Half Skate, Half Skateboard

What's the next big thing? Probably not the Zlider. This new device consists of two small skateboards (one for each foot) mounted on two-wheel inline frames. Getting the Zlider to move appears to be a little difficult. But all the wiggling required might make for a good workout.

a2amugWith pre-registration closed, the number of skaters signed up for Sunday's Athens to Atlanta Road Skate has reached 369. Forty more are expected before the 7:30 a.m. start of the ultramarathon. Partly sunny skies are expected with a high of 82 degrees. Already arrived in Athens is Eddy Matzger, winner of the last four a2as.
