“Edges”

Definition: The parts of your wheels that negotiate the pavement. ... Looking at an inline skate wheel, you wouldn't think it had any edges at all! But in the lexicon of inline skating, every wheel has three edges. The center edge is basically the bottom of the wheel. The inside edge is is the side of the wheel that is on on the inside of your foot. The outside edge is the side of the wheel that is on the outside of your foot. ... You are on your center edges when you are rolling straight ahead with your ankles straight. You use the inside edges when you push one skate to the side, such as when you are striding. You use the outside edges when you perform parallel or crossover turns.
