“Axles”

Definition: The metal rods of varying thickness that the wheels spin on. They go through the frames and are attached by screws. ... When changing or rotating your wheels, you must remove the axles. Occasionally, they should be cleaned with a solvent, such as a biodegradable detergent or citrus solvent, to remove road grime. (Always dry thoroughly before putting them back on your skates!)
