UrbanTool's sportHolster

Cell phones. iPods. GPS units. Heart rate monitors. Blackberrys. ... Wow! .... We sure skate around with a lot of stuff these days.

Good thing most of our gizmos are small. But even so, our jersey pockets runneth over!

That's where the new sportHolster ($65 US) might come in handy.

Made by the Austrian company UrbanTool, it resembles the shoulder holsters worn by detectives. But instead of guns and bullets, you load it up with digital toys and tools.

Made of nylon and spandex, the holster has a strap pocket for your cell phone and a flap-covered strap to carry your keys. On the back, it has a mesh pocket large enough to stow your music player, GPS and other gizmos, although probably not all of them at the same time.

It also has a "secret pocket with velcro" to stow your credit cards and ID, which, even if it's not going to discourage the bad guys, is nice to have.

Other smart features include straps to keep your cables out of the way of your arms and legs and reflective strips to keep you out of the way of cars.

Another nice thing about the sportHolster is that it comes in three sizes: small, medium and large. That way you won't have to wear a Magnum P.I.-sized holster if your build is more in line with one of Charlie's Angels.

(The sportHolster is available from a few online merchants, including the Apple store.)
