XL Super Mundo 110 wheel

Matter plans to release a 110mm wheel this fall that it says will be "significantly lighter" than those offered by its competitors in the skate world.

The company says its new XL Super Mundo 110 wheels will weigh 133 grams.

That would make it significantly lighter than Supersonic's 110mm wheel, which weighs in at a hefty 160 grams.

In fact, at 133 grams, it would weigh one gram less than Hyper's popular Mach 2 100mm wheel (134 grams).

"XL Super Mundo (will be) significantly lighter than any 104-110mm wheel on the market today," said Luigino Racing, which distributes Matter Wheels in the United States.

The new wheel makes use of Matter's Hollow Core Technology and Super Mundo and G-Shock urethane formulations.

"The XL hub technology enables us to carve out weight, and, more importantly, to maintain a consistent sidewall and profile to that of our 100mm wheels," the company said.

The wheel is expected to be available in November.

There is no word yet on pricing.
