5:10 pm | Pro men: Cado Motus' William Bowen wins for the second year in a row. Brian Talley is second; Ryan Wiederhold, third.

Steve Larios describes the final sprint: "There are two skaters together, one off the back. ... They are sprinting home. Bowen wins."

5:08 pm | Brian Talley and William Bowen share the lead. Getting windy out there. Coming up on the final lap.

5:07 pm | Ten skaters form the lead pack.

Eliminated: Cory Rolling, first; Ricardo ?, second; Todd Berry, third; Jacob Wimberly, fourth; Joseph Gonzalez, fifth; Sergio Aguilar, sixth; Dan Curran (sp?), seventh; Michael Majalochek (sp?), eighth; Michael Rainer, ninth.

The field of 15 includes Brian Talley, Chris Slocum, William Bowen, Ryan Wiederhold, Joseph Gonzalez, Todd Berry and Michael Ringer. Michael Cheek is suited up but not skating. There are a couple skaters from the Yucatan, Mexico, team.

4:51 pm | Pro master men: Jim Larson wins easily, finishing about 40 feet ahead of Morgan Williams. Hernan Diaz is third.

4:49 pm | Five guys left. John Thurman is out. Now Lenny Willcox is eliminated.

Eliminated: George Nikodym, first; Brian Krupa, second; Alex Fedak, third; Mike Harris (Texas Flyers), fourth; Robin Saunders, fifth.

4:46 pm | Lining up for the race is Hernan Diaz, Alex Fedak, Morgan Williams and Lenny Willcox ... and six others.

4:44 pm | Pro women: Paola Dominquez of Mexico wins by half a wheel. Megan Gillis is second. Addison Shepard, third.

"They came around the last corner together, all three. Then on the straighaway, the first two girls pulled out," says Steve Larios.

4:40 pm | Brenda Harris and Candy Wong are eliminated.

4:38 pm | Candy Wong takes the lead. All the women are together. They won't let Candy into the pack.

4:37 pm | Seven women lined up for the women's pro race. Among them: Asphalt Beach's Candy Wong, Brenda Harris from Dallas, Brittany Elliot and Addison Shepard.

4:32 pm | Open men: Clint Collier wins.

Andrew Tieken of Australia is second. Sterling Reynolds is third.

"They were all three together. Then about 10 feet from the finish, the second place guy stopped sprinting," says Steve Larios.

4:30 pm |Sterling Reynolds takes over the lead. But Clint Collier battles and retakes the lead.

4:28 pm |Clint Collier of Dallas is leading the pack and is now pulling ahead. Five skaters are left. Three laps left to go.

4:26 pm |After five laps, five men are left in the lead pack. Two stragglers are stuck in no-man's land behind the lead pack, followed by a chase pack of three.

4:24 pm |Seven skaters form the lead pack after the second lap. First skater eliminated is a kid from Florida.

Fourteen skaters line up for the race. The eliminations will start after the second lap.

4:18 pm | Open women: Carly Cavozos of Victoria, TX, wins the open women's race.

She led the full last lap of the race.

Pam Davidson hung with her until the sprint.

Renee Coffman finishes in third.

Five women lined up for the race.

4:11 pm | Last lap for the kids: Colby Study wins, outsprinting the Colombian girl, Olais Toledo.

"Coming around the last turn, the second girl dropped off, and it was a sprint between one and two ... and it was close, a few feet at the finish," said Asphalt Beach's Steve Larios.

Colby is 11.

Third place was Nina Tinsley.

4 pm | Kids race starts: The kids (12 and under) elimination race just started. There are about 10 kids skating. One little guy with a big double-push. It's boys and girls together. And after two laps, a girl is leading.

A good crowd of about 50 spectators is cheering on the kids.

3:30 pm Saturday | Scene: A beautiful afternoon in Round Rock, Texas. Sunny, warm (81 degrees) with a little breeze. And all the water from last night's thunderstorm is gone!

Asphalt Beach's Steve Larios skated the marathon course this morning. "There are a lot of tar snakes," he warns.

The elimination races will start in half an hour. Here's the schedule:

  • 4:00 pm - 12 and under (distance TBD)
  • 4:15 pm - Open Female
  • 4:30 pm - Open Male
  • 4:45 pm - Pro/Pro Master Female
  • 5:00 pm - Pro Master Male
