[Results] Napa Valley Inline Marathon

Postby Robert on Mon Jul 16, 2007 1:14 am

It was great to watch the Napa Valley Inline Marathon today. ... The lead pack hammered all the way but Mike Anderson still managed to get away 6 miles before the finish.

Here's the Planet story:

By the way, (Forum member) Droid finished a strong third! ... Nice going, Andy!

GREAT RACE ,............... as usual.

WAY TO GO MIKE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AWESOME DISPLAY OF STRENGTH !!!!!!!

The rough pavement was a challenge ...... but there was only ONE minor crash, and overall, this variable only served to make the race more challenging.

When you hear or read about the World Cup race in Zurich, it makes the rough pavement in Napa seem like a big nothin'-burger.

Napa is a fantastic race, in a gorgeous place,..... and the post race gathering is a real pleasure.

Dave and Rose and their "crew" really know how to put on a GREAT race, for top skaters and perhaps more importantly,.... for people of all ages and talent levels,....... MANY awards/prizes ............ and ALL medlas are the same,..... everyone is a champion.

Hats off to Dave & Rose for creating such an amazing environment.

When is pre-registration open for the 2008 Napa race ??????????

Napa 2007

I agree, another awsome race organized by Dave and Rose Miles....Thanks.

Mike Anderson was a power-house out there. Everyone in the lead pack did an awsome job working, keeping the pace fast. It was great to see Grant Foster back on the road and skating just as strong as ever. Andy Zak stayed true to form with his "Never say quite" hard charging skating.

Hey, Robert
Where can we find more pictures from the race??

Napa Valley Inline Marathon - Race Results

Postby Sk8GodFather on Mon Jul 16, 2007 5:44 pm

Hi Skaters,

What a fantastic time in the Napa Valley!!! Thank you all that supported us in this event. The whole thing was one of those magic moments in skating that we will all remember forever. I will be working on the video and pictures in the next couple of days. First I have to go back to Calistoga and finish all the post event work.

Race Results are posted at http://www.cora.org/Napa2007Results.htm

I already got a call this morning from the Napa County Public Works Dept. There seems to be a situation on the Silverado Trail where there was some orange paint sprayed around some potholes on the roadway. Yes, it is a problem. I told them I saw the markings, but I thought the DPW people did it as they had repaired other potholes on the roadway. Maybe these were the ones they didn't finish. No skater would ever do anything like make permanent markings on a county roadway that is punishable by a fine and possible jail time under the Napa County graffiti laws.

Don't worry, We got the fire crews putting this one out right now. No more fires please. 'Nuff said.

Looking forward to the pics. Some entertaining recants of the weekend from some of the Southern California skaters have been floating around. Maybe some of them will make it here.

The race sounded intense. As usual, David hosted a great event. Thank you David!

The Wrath of Grapes

Postby Sk8GodFather on Wed Jul 18, 2007 5:51 am

I was going to sit down and write a story about how things went in the 2007 Napa Valley Inline Marathon and Half Marathon last Sunday. After reading "The Wrath of Grapes" on the blog of skater Andrew Love, I thought it would be better if you all checked it out. Read Andrew's experience at http://www.andrewlove.org/blog/ It's really great!!!

Keep Rollin',

Hey GodFather... I didn't attend the race but I can still appreciate the work that you do for the sport! May you get all the health in the world (and maybe some good sponsors too!!) to keep on rollin!

Thank you!! :D
