Beautiful weather here in Atlanta, much bettter than last week in New York. from the middle of the pack, we had the little girl who won the 38 mile race tucked in behind me when we got to the 38mile finish line in Dacula. About 45 mile I heard a noise , was skating in a pack of about 5 men skaters and I. Ask Bob if he had a tool. He did, so I stopped luckily just before I would loose my front wheel axle. Needless to say I lost my pack, I agree with Martine was a little hard pushing 110's up all those hills. I also had to stop 2 times to go to the bathroom, which I guess means I was keeping well hydrated. So I skated about 35 miles by myself, including passing the 2 women who won the 52 mile race. I stopped at the last water stop , got 2 aspirin and some water and then skated with a young guy for about 6 miles, 3 miles. To the finish line. I finished in 6 hours and 34 minutes, 2 minutes faster than last year and fabulous, considering I did NYC marathon in wet conditions last week. This was my 10 marathon this year. Not bad for this 50 year old women from Florida. It was a fabulous year for a2a. Hope mor pro and recreational sisters can come next year. Carol

Don't confuse wheel "size" with a "too long frame length". When you switched to 4x110mm you are now on a frame at least 13.4 length, and still its longer effective length than a 4x100 13.4 because of the bigger wheels.

Try a hybrid 110 100 110 110 or a shorter 100 100 110 110 for faster footspeed on the hills.

Just wanted to congratulate all the skaters who participated in the 27th a2a road skate. The weather was perfect. :D I volunteered at all the check points, except #6, as I waited for my husband to arrive. All the skaters seemed in a good mood. Even the skater from London wasn't complaining about the heat. :P I don't think I heard of anyone who got lost this year. Maps are given to every skater in his/her packet. The European/Scandinavian skaters did great! Thanks/Tak for comming. :D
Eddy made a great bumble bee costume and was flying around the start line putting smiles on skater's faces. For the second year in a row, Danny Dunn, skated the full 87 miles. He did it in 453.37 :D WOW! What an inspiration he is. Someone should make a movie about how far he has come since his accident. Eddy and Dan are skating partners. One might say, they are the original Mavericks  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYrsDT02OcE

I have posted my race report on my personal blog. It was another tough race that I enjoyed greatly.
