The 2008 IndySpeed In-Line series will be held on Sunday afternoons from noon til 4pm on the 10-meter wide concrete apron in the infield of Major Taylor Velodrome.

Competitors will be placed in categories by their results in an initial 350-meter time trial. Skaters will be placed in A, B, C, D and E categories based on ability and time in the time trial, not pertaining to gender or age.

Registration and warm up will begin at 11:00am, 350 Meter Time trials will begin promptly at Noon. *Note: Indianapolis is the same time as OHIO and one hour different than Chicago.

The pack style events will be run in the same format as a Long track pack style competition. The warm-up lane is to be used for warm-up and cool-down, and is not part of the racing surface. Helmets are Required! Kneepads and gloves are recommended.

EVENTS
The first event for all skaters is a 350 meter metric-style time trial. This time trial is used for seeding purposes to place skaters into groups of approximately 5 to 7 skaters. The fastest skaters will be placed into the “A” group, the next fastest into the “B” group, and so on, until all skaters are placed.

A and B categories will follow the Senior long-track distances. Category C, D, E, etc…will race distances based on time trial times and skill set.
An example of distances is as follows:

Category A & B C D E
Pack 1500 meter 1000 meter 600 meter 150 meters
Style 500 meter 300 meter 150 meter 50 meters
Events 1000 meter 600 meter 300 meter 100 meters

After the category races are complete, a 5 kilometer and 10 kilometer “all comers” race will be held.

There is a registration fee of $10.00, payable at registration. There is no late fee.
All U.S speed skating rules will be in effect.

DIRECTIONS
Major Taylor Velodrome is located approximately 4 miles northwest of downtown Indianapolis. It is located in Lake Sullivan Park, across the street from Marian College.

FROM THE EAST( I-70) or the SOUTH (I-65) or DOWNTOWN
Take your freeway to downtown Indianapolis. Get on I-65 North (Towards Chicago).  Go North on I-65 to 38th Street (exit 119).  Exit onto 38th Street. At this point, 38th Streeet will Parallel I-65. Exit onto Kessler, Turn right (South) onto Kessler. Take the road over I-65 and take an immediate right, as if you were getting back onto I-65, in the other direction) This will put you on eastbound 38th street.  At this point, 38th Street will Parallel I-65. Move into the right lane, as the left lane becomes an entrance ramp to I-65.   The next traffic light is Cold Spring Rd.  Turn right on Cold Spring.  Go to the bottom of the hill. Turn left into parking lot for MTV and Lake Sullivan Park. 

FROM THE NORTH OR WEST ( I-65 Southbound)
From I-65 Southbound, Take the 38th street exit (exit 119).  At this point, 38th Street will Parallel I-65. Move into the right lane, as the left lane becomes an entrance ramp to I-65. The next traffic light is Cold Spring Rd.  Turn right on Cold Spring.  Go to the bottom of the hill. Turn left into parking lot for MTV and Lake Sullivan Park.
