Wheel advice

Postby alexo on Fri Jun 12, 2009 4:32 pm

I'm a recreational inline skater, skating mostly on asphalt roads (3Km to work when the weather's good) and sometimes on trails (kids on bikes, me on RBs). Currently using a 2 year old pair of Rollerblade Aero 90s.

Although the season is short here in Canada, after 2 seasons I think it's about time to replace the wheels. Previously, I would'nt bother buying new wheels because I could find better deals for skates (the Aeros cost me something like $90 incl. shipping) but this time I see nothing like it in size 8.5.

So, I'm looking online for something inexpensive, and I find two versions of Rollerblade wheels in 90mm/84A, described as : Rollerblade wheels and Rollerblade Active HP wheels; as well as Hyper NX360 Blue wheels at 90mm/82A.

Here's where I'd like to ask for your advice:
- Are these wheels suitable for the skating that I do?
- Should I go with the 84A or 82A hardness? (current wheels are 84A)
- Is there any difference between the RB "active HP" wheels and the plain ones (except that they come with SG9 bearings included)?

Thank you,
Alex.
