There are skaters who have done the Montreal 24hr inline skate solo... of course I don't know if they've done it "non-stop" from start to finish or not, & the website doesn't seem to be working... http://www.24inline.ca/

There are no generally accepted records for most skating events, IMO. There is no group which sets and enforces standards and verifies and documents records which are generaly accepted, for most skating events.

Montreal 24-hour skaters generally do take breaks. The one well-accepted 24 hour record holder I'm well familiar with did take breaks.

Anyone can claim to have set a record. Records which have much credibility are supervised by generally accepted officials, and typically include safeguards like drug testing.

Well Jim , drug testing is ALWAYS a part of a "world record", not counting all the other guidelines and rules (that you yourself followed when you officiated wr's )...

To answer this guys question, there were several Guinness listings in the past for long duration skates , I remember one of 323 hours by a Japanese guy...

Also the Frenchman Anthoney Rondel skated a long skate of (I think, have to research) 1000km , in like 78 hours.. He was going for 1000 miles but his body gave out...

Accepted guidelines for skating wr's include drug testing, timing by certified timepieces, certain level course measuring and constant officiating ....

Guinnes used to promote "marathon" skating records, meaning skating for the longest time, not distance... Guinness
rules allowed 5 min rest per hour, could be saved up and taken all at once... (Fyi most of the successful 24 hour SOLO skating records, had about 40 to 90 min down time (except for current Guinness 24 hr solo wr holder Guinci who "claims" to have only skated for 20 hours, taking 4 hours down time to skate 543km... ??

PS the japanese 323 hr guy did it (I think) in the 70's or 80's... look in old Guinness books to check this.
