Apology

If you think you will ever get a thank you from "mr big" for your apology, dream on. I did a correction once , no thank you either.

It will be epsecially interesting to hear if the course is closed early and only a few top skaters are allowed to finish. That would really seem strange since the roads within the park are not public, if you know what I mean.............. they are ONLY for the park,.... not through-ways.

It sounds like the course should be just fine,... may be challenging but also,.... totally flat, and very smooth,.......... so in some ways.... easy. That is all part of racing on the road. It should be very easy to get a pre-view of the course before the race,.... and that should be sufficient for anyone.

The marathon age group marathon will not be closed early, in fact our timing chip system will give lap times and number of laps completed. However, the Pro Elite marathon could be closed after reasonable times at the sole discretion of the race director.

Birgit, I can't go to myspace from work, but last night at home I got on the race myspace page, and found a course map. It was one of the links near the top center of the page.

MARATHON's web site sucks.

1) need hotel info.

2) How late can someone get to the park and be able to get in? Are roads and/or parking areas closed.

3) My understanding is Pro's start around 7:30 and OPEN starts at 9:00. I skate open, when must I be there?

4) Is there a packet pickup time, place?

5) How late does the park stay open on Sunday evening?

These are critical logistical issues I need to deal with, as I am flying in, and out, just for this. Hopefully this can be a traveling friendly event that has a future.

Some of the information you are looking for is in the blog section of their site. Here is the link http://www.myspace.com/miamiinlinemarathon
No mention on Park times, have to leave that one up to someone else.

I just got back from the Track part of the competition!

Although the day was cold (55), cloudy, and windy (20-25mph) the rain did not appear at all at the track! The racing was GREAT today! All the categories were greatly contested and everyone had lots of fun!

It is no wonder this competition is the best one in the country!
The best training for skating... is skating itself!
