Chasing the Leaders

Battling for Third - Cody Correa, 13, of Corona, Calif., leads the chase pack with about 1200 meters to go in the Super Bowl Sunday 10K in Redondo Beach, Calif. ... A few miles into the race, Brian Talley, 18, of Corona, Calif., and Howard Yeh, 31, of La Jolla, broke away and built a big lead. Talley of Team Safe finished first with a time of 18 minutes and 16 seconds. His average speed was about 20 mph. Yeh of the San Diego Street Elite was 23 seconds behind him. Shawn Hook finished about a minute later to claim third. Mechele Busby of Bont North America won the women's race. ... About 150 skaters competed in the multi-sport event, according to the organizer, the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce.
