Thanks to Ezeefit Sports, there shouldn’t be any sore feet in this year’s National Roller Cup.
The skater-owned company is providing the race series with 50 pairs of its highly touted foot protectors: the Ezeefit Ankle Booties.
The microfiber booties will be shipped free to the first 50 skaters who request them as their sign-up gift for the 2012 National Roller Cup.
“We are really pleased to have Ezeefit as an NROC sponsor,” said Robert Burnson, publisher of the Inline Planet, which organizes the race series. “This is a great skater-owned company that truly supports inline racing in North America.”
Ezeefit’s is best known as the maker of what has become the standard for skater foot protection: the Ezeefit Ankle Bootie. But it also makes other skate accessories, including palm sliders, skate gloves, compression shorts and boot covers.
The company was founded ten years ago by Susan Hirsch, a graphic designer and fitness skater from San Diego.
In the early years, Hirsch's focus was on developing ankle booties that could hold up to the rigors of skating. This led her to create three different thicknesses of ankle booties, using various layers of custom bonded lycra and superflex neoprene.
Later, she developed protective gear and sports specific clothing for skaters, ice and inline, and other athletes.
“Ezeefit Sports currently has over a half dozen other products, with more in the pipeline being tested,” the company said in a press release. “The company is proud to sponsor inline and ice skaters, and now NROC.”
